It's a good day to be on the lookout for quarterbacks who can be had in the middle rounds.

It's Thursday morning, and it is a big day for certain National Football League prospects all over the country as a handful of schools are holding their pro days, including Syracuse, Arizona and Missouri.

Others holding their pro days include Arkansas-Monticello, Clemson, Furman, Idaho, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico and Washington State.

The highest-ranked prospect getting his groove on is Missouri Tigers defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. The hulking youngster is being projected as a high first-rounder and maybe even the No. 1 overall pick.

Of course, a pair of quarterbacks will also be watched very closely.

Syracuse Orange signal caller Ryan Nassib will be throwing, trying to improve on his somewhat unfortunate performance at the Senior Bowl. Nassib has been linked quite a bit in the middle rounds to the Buffalo Bills, who hired Nassib's college coach, Doug Marrone.

Syracuse also has Justin Pugh to offer, a tackle who some believe can play the left side.

Matt Scott of the Arizona Wildcats is also thought to be a third- or fourth-round pick. After taking over for Nick Foles, Scott showed enough positives to be a wild card in this year's draft. A good pro day could vault him up the boards of a few quarterback-needy teams.

The Clemson Tigers also have a pair of very intriguing players in wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and running back Andre Ellington.

Hopkins had a massive senior season, hauling in more than 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns, scoring at least once in every game but one last year. Hopkins is expected to go somewhere in the first two rounds, perhaps as early as No. 12 overall to the Miami Dolphins.

Ellington is considered a mid-round pick who could catch on and start for a team that needs some punch out of the backfield.
