Detroit Lions sign Willie Young, Brian Robiskie to 1-year deals

USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions made a handful of roster moves on Monday, including re-signing wide receiver Brian Robiskie and defensive end Willie Young.

The Detroit Lions made a handful on Monday, including the re-signing of wide receiver Brian Robiskie and defensive end Willie Young to one-year deals, according to Tim Twentyman.

Detroit released Robiskie last week, but decided to bring the former second-round pick back to Detroit. The Lions signed Robiskie last offseason, but the former Ohio State receiver failed to make an impact. Appearing in just six games, Robiskie had four receptions on six targets, for 44 yards an a touchdown.

Cleveland selected Robiskie in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft, but the Browns let him go after the 2011 season. Robiskie will fight for a roster spot during training camp.

The Lions also re-signed defensive end Willie Young. Detroit selected Young in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Young did not appear in any games during his rookie season, but appeared in all 16 of Detroit's games in 2012, recording 11 tackles. Young signed a one-year deal instead of his restricted free agent tender, per Twentyman.

Additionally, five Lions either signed restricted free agent or exclusive rights tenders on Monday. Lions offensive tackle Jason Fox signed his restricted free agent tender, while running back Joique Bell, fullback Shaun Chapas, wide receiver Kris Durham and safety Ricardo Silva all signed exclusive rights tenders.
