2013 NFL Draft: Collin Klein will play quarterback with Houston

Collin Klein will get his chance to play quarterback, but will he stick with the Texans?

Coming out of Kansas State, Collin Klein was determined to play quarterback in the NFL. He will apparently get that chance as Klein will play quarterback in Houston after signing with the Texans as an undrafted free agent.

Klein had an excellent senior season for KSU, both as a runner and a passer, but an odd throwing motion led most scouts to believe he wouldn't be able to play quarterback at the next level. With his combination of size and athleticism, many believed he should transition to tight end in the NFL. Klein, however, was determined to stay at quarterback.

He will get that opportunity in Houston, although it won't be easy for him to make the roster. Matt Schaub is entrenched as the Texans' starting quarterback with T.J. Yates, Case Keenum and Stephen McGee also on the roster. Yates served as Schaub's backup for two seasons while Keenum and McGee signed with Houston in January. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle said the Texans will not take five quarterbacks to training camp, meaning Klein may need to impress quickly if he's going to get a shot.

Houston kept three quarterbacks out of training camp last season and if they do the same in 2013, Keenum, McGee and Klein could be competing for one spot.
