Warford went to the turf in pain after blocking on a run play, per Rogers, and remained that way for more than a minute before being helped off the field by trainers. Warford was able to perform basic hand movements and although he did not resume practicing, the third-round draft pick returned to the field for the closing huddle, which was good news for Lions head coach Jim Schwartz:
"I don't think it's a shoulder. We'll see. It wasn't serious enough to keep him in. He stayed around. He caught an elbow and it hurt. We'll err on the side of caution, as we do when it comes to just about any injury situation we have."
Warford was an All-SEC performer at Kentucky and earned third-team All-American honors after his senior season.
