DeMarco Murray injury: Cowboys RB leaves practice with hamstring tweak

USA TODAY Sports

Murry just can't catch a break, missing a day of practice with a tweaked hamstring.

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray left practice early with a hamstring tweak, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas.

The injury isn't expected to be major, but hamstring injuries have a tendency to linger and his injury history is already a concern. Murray has managed to play just 23 games in two seasons. He rushed for 663 yards and four touchdowns last season while dealing with a foot injury, and his rookie year was cut short with a broken ankle.

The Cowboys drafted Joseph Randle to be a better insurance policy than Felix Jones (now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles) was last year, but he's out until training camp after undergoing thumb surgery. If Murray isn't able to go in Wednesday's OTA session, the team will be down to Lance Dunbar, Phillip Tanner and Kendial Lawrence in the backfield.
