Details of the injury are not known at the moment, but McClain notes that he had ice wrapped around his calf. Coach Gary Kubiak later said that Foster suffered a strained calf muscle. Kubiak doesn't believe it's a serious injury, and teammate Andre Johnson seems to agree:
Andre Johnson said he's been around long enough to know when injuries are serious. Doesn't think Arian Foster's is #Texans— Nick Scurfield (@NickScurfield) May 28, 2013
Foster has been a workhorse for the Texans, racking up 956 carries over the past three years. He rushed for 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2012, but only managed 4.1 yards per carry, a career low. He's also had a long history of nagging injuries. Despite not missing any games in 2012, he was bothered by a knee issue that kept him on the injury report for most of the season, and he left one game with an irregular heartbeat. He's had knee and hamstring problems going back to college, but it hasn't slowed down his production.
