Tim Tebow isn't done playing football in the NFL, at least not according to his father. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport got a hold of Bob Tebow, and asked for his thoughts on an ESPN The Magazine report in which several people close to Tim Tebow admit that his career is likely over. The elder Tebow responded with a fine bit of fatherly bon mot:
Asked Bob Tebow, Tim's dad, about ESPN Mag report that Tebow admits NFL career is over: "You are old enough to not believe all you hear."— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 1, 2013
Tebow himself has never said that he is ready to hang up his cleats, and given his personality, he isn't likely to admit defeat any time soon. For those who aren't Tebow or a direct relation, the writing appears to be on the wall. Tebow was released by the New York Jets at the end of April, and so far NFL teams have yet to show any interest in signing him.
Of course, Tebow could always try the CFL or switch to a position that will let him showcase his athleticism without having to bother with throwing the ball. Tebow remains obstinate that he is a quarterback, however, and an NFL-caliber one at that. As always, time will tell.
