DeMarcus Ware injury: Cowboys star will be ready for training camp

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

DeMarcus Ware's offseason shoulder surgery shouldn't be a concern. He's expected to be 100 percent for training camp.

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman DeMarcus Ware has not had any setbacks on his shoulder, and he should be ready to go when the team opens training camp on July 20.

Ware had surgery on his shoulder in January and was held out of OTAs and minicamps as a precaution. Although he missed the Pro Bowl with the shoulder injury, it shouldn't be a concern going forward. From ESPN Dallas:

"I feel like my shoulder is about 94 percent, if you want to put it that way," Ware said, referring to his uniform number. "If we had to play a game tomorrow, I'd be ready to play."

Ware hasn't missed a single game in his eight-year career with the Cowboys, and it doesn't sound like that streak will end anytime soon. He had 11.5 sacks in 2012, the seventh year in a row he's recorded at least 11 sacks. A 3-4 pass rusher his whole career, Ware will be transitioning to the 4-3 under new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
