Aaron Hernandez could find himself facing additional charges in the near future, this time in the state of Florida. Authorities are investigating a connection between Hernandez and "more than one" shooting in Florida, dating back to his freshman year at the University of Florida, according to George Colli of NBC affiliate WVIT in Connecticut.
The potential charges and the connection between Hernandez and the Florida shootings that police are looking into were not reported. Hernandez played football for the Gators from 2007 through 2009.
Update: No charges have been filed against Hernandez in Florida. The Gainesville Police Department issued a brief statement clarifying that on Monday afternoon.

In other news, Connecticut and Massachusetts state police, along with local authorities, searched Pine Lake Park in Bristol, Conn., on Monday morning as part of the Hernandez investigation. That search included police divers exploring the waters inside the park.

Hernandez is a native of Bristol, which is located just over 100 miles from where ther former New England Patriots tight end lived and where Odin Lloyd's body was discovered in North Attleborough, Ma.
Hernandez was arrested last month and charged with the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd, 27, as well as five gun-related charges. He is currently being held without bail while a grand jury investigates his alleged role in the death of Lloyd.
