The Lions and Browns, both 1-0 in the preseason, will meet Thursday night in Cleveland to begin the Week 2 slate of games. The contest will not be televised nationally, but fans in the Detroit and Cleveland areas have some local television options, while fans elsewhere can stream the game online.
Detroit is coming off a 26-17 victory over the Jets on Friday. Quarterback Matthew Stafford didn't play for long that night, not surprisingly -- he finished 3-for-8 for 58 yards in just two series of work. The Lions got a big play out of the gate from rookie Ziggy Ansah, who took this gift from Mark Sanchez to the house. They'll be looking for more solid plays from their first-year players and reserves in Cleveland.
The Browns handled St. Louis, 27-19, and Brandon Weeden was sharp in limited action, completing 10 of 13 attempts for 112 yards and a score. The team played without running back Trent Richardson, who has been nursing a shin injury. He returned to practice over the weekend, but how much work he gets against Detroit -- if any -- remains to be seen.
