Green suffered the injury at Bengals' training camp last Thursday, where he took a hard fall during deep-route drills and was slow to get up. He was eventually able to walk off the practice field under his own power. He later told Artrell Hawkins, Jr. of Fox Sports Radio that the injury felt like a hyperextension of the knee, similar to the one he suffered as a rookie. He needed two weeks to return from that injury.
The Bengals have had several receivers banged up recently. Marvin Jones has yet to return to practice after being shaken up during Sunday's practice, and rookie Tyrone Goard is still out with a concussion.
In response to these injuries, the Bengals shored up their receiving depth by signing free agent Jheranie Boyd on Thursday, according to his agency. Boyd is an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina who had 860 yards and 13 touchdowns during his college career.
