Will Smith injury: Saints LB limps to locker room

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

Saints linebacker Will Smith left Sunday's game with a possible leg injury. He limped into the locker room under his own power.

New Orleans Saints linebacker Will Smith left Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with an injury. It's unclear what kind of injury he has, though some believe it's to his leg:

Smith suffered the injury while falling to the bottom of a pile during a Matt Schaub sack. It appears a player rolled up on his leg. Trainers looked at him for a few minutes before he limped to the locker room under his own power.

Smith recorded six sacks for the Saints last year and is expected to be a key player in Rob Ryan's switch to a 3-4 defense. The Saints can ill afford to lose one of their few difference-makers on defense.

We'll update the story when more information is available.
