Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker and first-round pick Jarvis Jones was released from a hospital this morning, according to Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Jones was diagnosed with a bruised chest after tests for a more serious injury came back negative. Jones exited Saturday night's 26-20 overtime loss to the Chiefs after falling on the ball in the fourth quarter. He got snaps with the starters but was still in the game late.
It's unclear whether or not Jones will play in Pittsburgh's fourth and final preseason game on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.
Jones has forced two turnovers so far this preseason in the three games he's played. The Steelers may be cautious with his injury given the early impact he has made.
