The Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Washington Redskins in their final preseason game on Thursday. Look for the backups to get plenty of time as both teams try to sort out their depth charts before final roster cuts are due on Saturday.
The Redskins are undefeated in preseason even without Robert Griffin III. Kirk Cousins is still dealing with a foot injury, so Rex Grossman and Pat White will split time on Thursday. They're conceivably fighting for one roster spot, but it's possible the Redskins will just go with two quarterbacks if Cousins is healthy enough. Running back Evan Royster is just competing for a roster spot now that Roy Helu has won the No. 2 running back job.
Josh Freeman is still the Bucs' Week 1 starter, but his preseason performance has raised more questions than answers. Through three games, Freeman completed just 12 of 26 passes for 101 yards, no touchdowns and a lost fumble. Rookie Mike Glennon could turn heads with a big performance on Thursday. The coaching staff is openly committed to Freeman, but if his struggles continue into the regular season, Greg Schiano and co. may be forced to change their tune.
