Seth Olsen injury: Vikings guard carted off field

USA TODAY Sports

A scary injury saw the lineman carried off the field on a stretcher with a neck brace equipped. In better news, he gave a thumbs up while departing.

Minnesota Vikings backup guard Seth Olsen needed a stretcher to be carried off the field after suffering a major injury in Thursday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

There was much concern for Olsen's health as 10 medical professionals helped him onto a stretcher, but Olsen gave the thumbs up as he was being taken off the field. Sean Jensen tweeted a photo of the field as medics helped Olsen off:

Olsen was a fourth-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos in 2009 but got released during final cuts in 2010, when he was picked up by Minnesota. He spent that season on the practice squad before being released by the Vikings during the 2011 preseason. The Indianapolis Colts picked him up and he made several starts over the last two years, but the Vikings brought him back as a free agent this offseason for depth.
