Cunningham was a second-round pick in the 2010 draft for the Patriots out of Florida, but he quickly fell out of favor in New England. He started 11 games as a rookie and finished with 27 tackles and one sack. But in 2011, he did not make a single start. He finished the season with one tackle.
Last season, he set a career high with 2 1/2 sacks, but he only made 16 tackles in 12 games. Cunningham has 60 career tackles and 3 1/2 sacks in three seasons with New England.
In November, he was suspended four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing substance policy.
