The Miami Dolphins released 22 players on Saturday to reach the regular season limit of 53 players, as noted by the team's Twitter account. The deadline was at 6 p.m. ET, and was the final wave of cuts prior to the regular season, though most teams will certainly still have moves to make as they examine the waiver wire.
The players released on Saturday are below:
Offensive linemen Jeff Adams, Chris Barker, Andrew McDonald and Sam Brenner, wide receivers Chad Bumphis, Keenan Davis, Marvin McNutt and Brian Tyms, tight end Kyle Miller, quarterback Aaron Corp, linebackers Antwan Applewhite, Lee Robinson and Austin Spitler, defensive linemen A.J. Francis, Tristan Okpalaugo, Kheeston Randall and Tracy Robertson, and defensive backs Julian Posey and De'Andre Presley.
The biggest surprises for the Dolphins at this point come at the cornerback and wide receiver positions. With the release of McNutt, Tyms and Bumphis, the Dolphins have just four wide receivers on the roster in Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Rishard Matthews and Brandon Gibson. And by only releasing two defensive backs, they have a whopping 11 on the roster.
Still, all of that can change in the coming days as they take a long look at the waiver wire.
