It's the first opportunity for fans to see the Washington Redskins -- but don't expect to see the guy who got them to the playoffs last year.
Robert Griffin III probably won't play in preseason games, including Thursday night's matchup against the Tennessee Titans, as he tries to recover from a knee injury suffered in last year's postseason loss. That recovery's going fine -- he's cleared for practice, and is expected to move to 11-on-11 drills next week after some 7-on-7 work -- but the Redskins won't risk an unnecessary injury in a game situation. Backups Kirk Cousins, Rex Grossman and Pat White will split time under center as they jaw for depth chart status.
As for Tennessee, it's hoping things look up in Jake Locker's third season under center -- and the first where he's had the starting job heading into training camp, after some offseason adjustments. Music City Miracles thinks the matchup between a completely revamped interior of the Titans offensive line against Washington's Barry Cofield is the key, as Chance Warmack and Andy Levitre have to prove they were worth the high priority the Titans gave them in the offseason. A still-yet-to-be-decided center will also be key. They're tasked with protecting Locker and paving the way for Chris Johnson and new pickup Shonn Greene.
