NFL inactives, Jets vs. Patriots 2013: Big names include Amendola, Gronkowski, Kerley and Sanchez

Tom Szczerbowski

Thursday night's inactive lists reveal plenty of big names out for the bout between the Patriots and the Jets, including target-vacuums Danny Amendola and Jeremy Kerley.

The inactive lists for Thursday night's game between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots revealed plenty of big names but few true surprises. For the Jets, defensive end Quinton Coples, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley and quarterback Mark Sanchez had been ruled out long before game time. For the Patriots, the absences of wide receiver Danny Amendola and tight end Rob Gronkowski were expected after both players were listed as doubtful on the Pats' latest injury report.

The Jets will roll into the game with two quarterbacks: starter Geno Smith and backup Matt Simms. The recently signed Brady Quinn was marked inactive.

The Patriots will be without rookie tight end Zach Sudfeld due to a hamstring injury, leaving Michael Hoomanawanui as the team's only experienced pass catcher at the position. Thankfully for the Pats, rookie wideout Aaron Dobson is listed active despite entering the day listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury of his own.
