There are now conflicting injury reports on Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola, who could miss up to a month if he's diagnosed with a sports hernia, according to Fox's Jay Glazer.
Amendola managed to play with his injury in the Patriots' Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills. He finished with over 100 yards receiving that game and was Tom Brady's primary receiver, targeted 14 times.
His absence was noticeable against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football, where New England managed to sneak a victory despite lacking receiving weapons for a visibly frustrated Brady. The young receiving corps managed to get separation, but showed shaky hands and dropped numerous passes.
Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to return as soon as Week 3, but the lack of receiving threats is stunting a normally effective offense. Much of the pressure has been put on rookies Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins, who have had spotty performances to start the year.
