Jacoby Jones injury: Ravens WR remains sidelined indefinitely

USA TODAY Sports

Jones could be out a while as he recovers from a tough hit during the season opener.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones has been sidelined since Week 1 and is not sure when he will be able to return, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Jones was hit hard by his own teammate against the Denver Broncos during a 49-27 loss when he tried to make a fair catch. Unfortunately, rookie Brynden Trawick crashed into him, spraining his knee.

The original thought was that Jones would be out 4-6 weeks but not require surgery. While that is still a possibility, Jones says he has no real idea about when he expects to be playing again, per the story:

"Honestly, I can't even predict when it's going to be," said Jones. "It's in the good Lord's hands and I'm just trying to rehab it and get better. I've never had a knee injury this bad. I've had my nicks and bruises before."

Jones was a major part of Baltimore claiming a Super Bowl championship last season, its first since 2000. Jones made the famous catch in Denver to tie the score as Broncos safety Rahim Moore misjudged the Joe Flacco throw. Jones also caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl and had a kickoff return score.
