The New York Giants aren't getting a taste of Southern hospitality in their road visit with the Carolina Panthers, getting dominated at the line en route to a 31-point deficit.
Eli Manning has been unable to find any of his wide receivers despite the Panthers starting a mixed group of defensive backs including players signed this week and promoted from the practice squad. The miserable performance for the Giants' quarterback has lasted all game, with just 37 passing yards and an interception to his name. He's also been sacked six times.
Giants offensive struggles
- 52 total yards
- 36 yards lost to sacks
- 40 yards lost to penalties
- 1.6 yards per pass attempt
Victor Cruz has caught just three passes for 25 yards, while the running game has been ineffective. Manning is the team's leading rusher with 14 yards, and those came on the third play of the game. Three running backs have combined for five yards on 10 attempts.
The Panthers are known for stepping off the gas and losing late in games, but with a 31-point lead, it seems unlikely.
