Aaron Rodgers on Packers loss: 'We gave it away'

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

An emotional loss will weigh on Green Bay in the bye week.

The Green Bay Packers found a way to squander a 16-point lead, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals 34-20 on Sunday. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was particularly hard on the offense, telling the media he "Felt we gave it away offensively... I played poorly."

Rodgers finished the game with 244 yards passing on 43 attempts, as well as throwing two interceptions. It was the lowest quarterback rating he posted since December of 2010. The feeling was similar throughout the team, one where players and coaches understood they let this one slip through their fingers.

Head coach Mike McCarthy didn't mince his words about how demoralizing the game was.

The Packers have a bye week to reflect on the loss and prepare for the Detroit Lions. Defensive tackle Mike Daniels wants to make Green Bay's next opponent pay.

Randall Cobb had a good game in spite of the Packers' struggles, something that wasn't lost on Rodgers.

The Packers find themselves at 1-2, and in an unfamiliar position. They are no longer in the driver's seat of the NFC North and desperately need a win against the Detroit Lions when they return to action in two weeks.
