Ahmad Bradshaw has been ruled out by the Indianapolis Colts for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a neck injury, head coach Chuck Pagano announced Friday. Bradshaw was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday with the injury. His absence may ensure a heavy workload for the newly acquired Trent Richardson at EverBank Field.
Pagano described the injury as neck discomfort from a "significant blow." Pagano could not specify exactly when Bradshaw took the hit. Bradshaw appeared to be at full strength in Week 3 as he rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in a win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Bradshaw and Richardson were set to continue working as a tandem this weekend. Richardson was held to just 35 yards on 13 carries against the 49ers, albeit with a touchdown. He could take full control of the Colts' running game on Sunday. Donald Brown will ostensibly be the team's No. 2 running back this weekend, but he has just 10 carries for 55 yards this season.
