Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett left Sunday's game on a stretcher after falling awkwardly into Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. The team says a "lower back injury" caused him to leave the game, according to Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle.
Bennett was rushing Schaub late in the first half when his momentum carried him into Schaub's hip as a pile of players came down on his back.
Trainers came out to take a look at Bennett and eventually placed him on a stretcher and took him into the locker room as his father watched from the stands. Seattle Times reporter Jerry Brewer reported that Bennett moved his legs at one point, a positive sign:
Michael Bennett did raise his head, and he's been moving his legs. #Seahawks

Seattle signed Bennett to a one-year deal in free agency after he record nine sacks with the Buccaneers last season. He missed the first game of the year with an injury but has been a significant help to the Seahawks defense since returning with 2.5 sacks in two games.
Seattle currently trails 20-3 at halftime.
