Robert Griffin III's first game of the season is not going so well

Pick, fumble, failed pitch ... the Redskins are a blocked punt away from football mishap bingo!

The Redskins first three drives of the year: an Alfred Morris fumble, a terrible throw by Robert Griffin III that ended in a pick, and ... well ... this:

Griffin made the very questionable decision to pitch back to Morris while he was in the end zone, and while the toss wasn't perfect, Morris still deserves some blame for failing to reel the ball in. Either way, they're lucky they got to this first so it's only a safety and not a TD.

Forget that long in-depth story we wrote: this is how you stop the read option. Or maybe this is just the sign that RGIII mayyyyyybe needed to play just a little bit in preseason.

Washington trails 12-7, and those seven points all came on this fumble return. They just have 9 yards, and 2013 is still the year of the safety!
