The Redskins have set up an interview with Jim Caldwell, throwing another candidate into the pile.

The Washington Redskins have scheduled an interview with Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Caldwell also has an interview set up with the Detroit Lions.

Caldwell was promoted to offensive coordinator in the middle of 2012 after the Ravens fired Cam Cameron. He was credited with turning the offense around and guiding Joe Flacco to a Super Bowl MVP, but Baltimore's offense has struggled this season. Caldwell was previously the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts for three years. He got fired after a disastrous 2011 season in which Peyton Manning missed the whole year with neck surgery.

The Redskins are on the coaching hunt after firing Mike Shanahan on Black Monday. They interviewed Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell on Tuesday and are reportedly trying to court Baylor's Art Briles. If Caldwell gets the job, he'll have a franchise quarterback to work with, but also intense scrutiny under Dan Snyder and a frustrated fanbase.
