How to watch 2014 Pro Bowl online, TV schedule, radio and more

There have been major changes made to the Pro Bowl this year. Here is how you can watch to see how they play out.

The NFL Pro Bowl is often regarded as a meaningless event to pass time before the Super Bowl. The effort level of players in the game has been questioned in the past, and fan interest is often low. The league is hoping to spark waning interest this year with a new format and team selection process.

Unlike previous editions, the 2014 Pro Bowl will not be between the NFC and AFC. Players were selected this year by position, with no regard to conference affiliation. Selections were based on voting from fans, coaches and players. After players who opted out due to injury and the selections from the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos were replaced, a final player pool was determined. The league then held a fantasy football-style draft with Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders picking their respective teams. The end result was the two rosters that will take the field Sunday.

At the very minimum, the format change will provide some unique matchups. Under the previous NFC vs. AFC format, NFL teammates were always on the same side. This year, you could see players from the same NFL team go head-to-head. Indianapolis' Chuck Pagano and Carolina's Ron Rivera will serve as the two head coaches.

The game itself will be broadcast on NBC with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth providing the play-by-play and color commentary. Michele Tafoya will be the sideline reporter for the game. Television coverage is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. There will be additional coverage online at NFL.com.
