NFL news: Knowshon Moreno wants to return; Tom Brady, Bill Belichick miss the cut and more

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Moreno wants to remain with the Broncos, Brady, Belichick and Peyton Manning all missed the cut at Pebble Beach and more you might have missed from the NFL on Sunday.

Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno hopes to be back with the team next season. Moreno was a disappointment for the first couple years in the NFL, but was a big part of Denver's offense this past season. Moreno had his best season yet, putting up 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, while also working effectively in the passing game. You might have overlooked him given that Peyton Manning was busy breaking records and quarterbacking the most productive offense of all time.

Here's what else you might have missed from Sunday in the NFL:

Brady, Manning, Belichick all miss the cut

Yep, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Bill Belichick all missed the cut at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. This confirms that golf is way harder than football, clearly. Or it possibly confirms that they're pro football players and not pro golfers. Belichick did speak as to why it's difficult, which you can find in the above link.

Pettigrew sounds like a fit in Detroit

Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew is set to become a free agent at the start of the new league year, but he seems to fit the team's new offense. Joe Lombardi gave his idea of an ideal tight end and it really does seem like Pettigrew fits the bill, as noted by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Lombardi listed blocking as one must, and someone who can go out and catch passes when need be. That's pretty much Pettigrew all over. Still, the Lions have very little cap space with which to work.

More pictures of upcoming Vikings stadium

The Minnesota Vikings released some pictures of how they envision the team's new stadium will look, as noted by SB Nation's Daily Norseman. There's plenty of pictures to browse through, and all of them look pretty darn solid. Who knows if they'll achieve their vision in the end, but what's most important is that this team get a new stadium ASAP.

Williams facing trespass, criminal mischief charges

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams is facing charges of criminal mischief and trespassing. It's unclear what's been going on with Williams, though there have been reports that the team is considering releasing him due to a lack of focus on football while on injured reserve. We don't know what these incidents are quite yet, but things definitely are not going well for him.
