TMZ has released footage of what it claims is Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice dragging his fiancée, who looks to be unconscious, out of an elevator after a physical altercation that led to Rice's arrest over the weekend.
Rice and his fiancée, Janay Palmer, were both arrested by Atlantic City police last Friday night and each charged with simple assault domestic violence. They were both released later that same evening.
According to the police report, Rice and Palmer struck each other with their hands at Revel Casino. Rice's attorney described the incident as a "minor physical altercation," but the TMZ footage suggests a much more serious incident.
The NFL has stated it will conduct a review of the situation under its personal conduct policy, according to The Baltimore Sun. The policy grants commissioner Roger Goodell wide discretion for implementing disciplinary action, regardless of whether the player is charged or convicted of a crime. That discipline can include suspensions, fines or banishment from the league.
