In one of the more compelling Super Bowl games we've had in recent years, the Seattle Seahawks take on the Denver Broncos Sunday evening at MetLife Stadium. The Super Bowl is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET. on FOX. The network will also be streaming the game.
The Seahawks are a defensive powerhouse, with one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Richard Sherman, who led the league in interceptions this season, leads that group along with hard-hitting safety Kam Chancellor and ball-hawk Earl Thomas. On top of their talented defensive backfield, the Seahawks feature a plethora of pass rushers that includes Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Chris Clemons and Bruce Irvin.
Also, while the Seahawks are known for their defense, their offense has some weapons. Second-year quarterback Russell Wilson has put together two very productive seasons, while running back Marshawn Lynch is a proven Pro Bowl player with the ability to take over games. Wide receivers Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse and Golden Tate have also come up big in the playoffs.
The Broncos, on the other hand, are the best offense in NFL history, statistically speaking. Peyton Manning broke multiple records this year including passing yardage and touchdowns, and the Broncos' entire offense broke some of its own with the most points scored. His weapons include the likes of Pro Bowl wide receivers Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker and tight end Julius Thomas. Running back Knowshon Moreno has also been a valued asset for Denver.
The defense for the Broncos takes understandable backseat to the offense, but the unit has been productive. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has played well all season, while Champ Bailey has recovered from injuries that hampered him throughout the season. Shaun Phillips has been a force in pass rushing situations.
Along with the much-anticipated contest will be the remarkable lineup of talent that will be featured on Sunday. The National Anthem will be sung by opera singer Renee Fleming. The halftime show is set to feature multiple-time Grammy winner Bruno Mars and legendary rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
It all will be on FOX. If you're looking to watch online, FOX will have a stream. You can catch all the details of that over at NFL.com.
