2014 Super Bowl prop bet results: National anthem goes 1:53

Some seriously strange prop bets are made during the Super Bowl every year and this one is no different. National anthem length remains a popular one, and we've got the results from Super Bowl XLVIII.

Opera singer Renee Fleming's singing of the national anthem led gamblers to take a shot at her timing on the microphone. The over/under for the performer, who typically adds dramatics to her singing in operas, was two minutes and 25 seconds. Without the fast pace rhythm of a pop star belting out the traditional tune, gamblers may have assumed the song would be a bit longer than usual or that she would be quick to appeal to the youthful audience.

Pop stars like Kelly Clarkson (2012, 1:34) and Christina Aguilera (2011, 1:54) sang well under the mark in the past. However, Alicia Keys took the longest to finish the song of the three with last year's rendition that went two minutes and 35 seconds.

Fleming went with the favorite and sang under 2:25, by 32 seconds. The line for the under was -140, which led to a little extra cash for some safe gamblers. Fleming's speed was expected to be shorter than Keys' performance in 2013 and proved to be the right call.
