TMZ is reporting that the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle, who filed for bankruptcy in 2012, made a $100,000 wager with rapper Rick Ross on the outcome of Super Bowl XLVIII, with Sapp taking the Broncos and Ross taking the Seattle Seahawks.
While $100K may seem mild compared to Floyd Mayweather's rumored $10 MILLION gamble on the game, that's a lot of change for a guy who was broke two years ago.
Here's video from TMZ of the two making the bet.
Rick Ross later confirmed the wager on Twitter, though he left out the specifics on the amount.
Sapp is currently an analyst for the NFL Network. His bosses have to be less than pleased that a prominent employee is publicly gambling that kind of money.
