It took the Broncos until the end of the third quarter to get on the board.

The Denver Broncos finally got on the board.

As the third quarter came to a close, Peyton Manning threw a touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas. The Broncos had their most efficient drive of the game, moving 80 yards down the field in just six plays to close the gap to 36-8. Manning threw to Wes Welker in the flat to convert the two-point conversion and cut the deficit to … 28 points.

Manning is now over 200 yards passing, and Thomas has 12 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. The 12 catches are a Super Bowl record.

To start the fourth quarter, the Broncos trail by four touchdowns and need a miracle. The late third-quarter touchdown helps, but Denver is still a long shot to pull this off.
