It's probably of little consolation, but Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has set an NFL record by grabbing 12 receptions during the Seattle Seahawks lop-sided route on Sunday. Thomas added his 13th to build on his Super Bowl record night.
Thomas, who finished ninth in the league in receptions during the 2013 regular season, has been the only bright spot in the Broncos' otherwise dismal offensive performance. He has 101 yards to go alone with his receiving mark and also caught Denver's only touchdown in the game so far.
Outside of that, the Broncos record-setting offense has been shut down by the Seahawks' top-ranked defense.
It hasn't been all good for Thomas. His fumble in the third quarter led to another touchdown drive by the Seahawks that dropped Denver into a 36-0 hole.
Peyton Manning has passed for 241 yards and a touchdown but has been forced into two interceptions.
Thomas was the team's leading receiver during the season, going for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns. He's adding to those numbers with a solid Super Bowl, but that's obviously not a major story given the current score.
