The attorney of Ray Rice confirmed that video footage showing the Baltimore Ravens running back dragging his unconscious fiancee following a physical altercation was authentic but incomplete, according to Justin Fenton of the Baltimore Sun.
Both Rice and his fiancee, Janay Palmer, were arrested in Atlantic City, N.J. over the weekend and charged with simple assault domestic violence. On Wednesday, TMZ released a video showing Rice dragging a limp Palmer out of an elevator at Revel Casino.
"The video that has been put up by TMZ shows the very end of what transpired between Ray and his fiancee," said the attorney, Michael Diamondstein.
The official police report alleges that Rice struck Palmer with his hand, knocking her unconscious.
"We are confident that by the time all of the facts are in the open, the public will have a complete and true picture of what actually transpired, and we just ask that the public remember what a high-character, good person Ray is, and that they reserve judgment until all the facts are out."
The Ravens have issued an official statement on the incident:
"We have seen the video, this is a serious matter and we are currently gathering more information."
The NFL has said it will conduct a review of the incident under its personal conduct policy.
