The Chicago Bears have selected LSU defensive tackle Ego Ferguson with the No. 51 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Ferguson was ranked No. 69 among prospects on SB Nation's top 200 big board and seventh among all defensive tackles, behind Timmy Jernigan, Dominique Easley and DaQuan Jones.
Ferguson played in 38 games in three seasons with the Tigers, but only started his final 12 before choosing to forgo his senior season to enter the 2014 NFL Draft. Ferguson recorded 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack, earning an All-SEC honorable mention for his play during his junior year.
An ankle injury ended Ferguson's 2013 season prematurely, which resulted in his decision to sit out the 2014 NFL Combine (with the exception of the bench press). It wasn't until LSU's pro day in April that he performed for scouts. Ferguson has a solid build and is a flexible player with pass-rush potential, but he doesn't fly off the line of scrimmage at the snap.
