NFL Draft results 2014: Trades galore in Round 2

Elsa

The second round of the 2014 NFL Draft is over, and few teams actually picked where they were originally slotted.

SB Nation 2014 NFL Draft

The second round of the 2014 NFL Draft is in the books. Much of the talk was centered on whether or not the Houston Texans would trade out of the first pick or possibly take a quarterback. Neither thing happened, as the Texans added offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo at No. 33. Su'a-Filo joins Jadeveon Clowney in Houston.

Round two was full of trades, with a whopping 13 picks being made by teams who were not originally slotted there. The most action came late when the San Francisco 49ers traded down from No. 56 with the Denver Broncos, then back up to the No. 57 pick to select Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde. San Francisco traded again at No. 61, giving it to the Jacksonville Jaguars and moving down into the third round.

Some of the notable picks include Derek Carr going to the Oakland Raiders at No. 4 -- Oakland was rumored to be interested in Carr as high as No. 5 overall in the first round -- and the Jaguars doubling down on wide receivers with Marqise Lee at No. 39 and Jarvis Landry at No. 63.

The first running backs of the draft finally went off the board, with Bishop Sankey going to the Tennessee Titans at No. 54, Jeremy Hill to the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 55 and Carlos Hyde to the 49ers at No. 57.
