Cleveland Browns wide receiver Nate Burleson suffered a broken arm during minicamp, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He is expected to return to the team during training camp, but the timing of the news is still curious, coming just hours after reports that Josh Gordon may be facing a season-long suspension due to a failed drug test.
Burleson reportedly suffered a fracture in the same arm he broke last season while trying to save a box of pizza from slipping off the front seat of his car. That injury held him out of seven games with the Detroit Lions. Fortunately for Burleson, he isn't expected to miss any games for the Browns.
Unfortunately for the Browns, the news means that they'll be trying to develop new quarterback Johnny Manziel without what were supposed to be his top two targets. Behind Burleson and Gordon, Greg Little, Andrew Hawkins and Travis Benjamin top the Browns' depth chart. Little was third on the Browns last season with 41 receptions for 465 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft is coming to a close and the Browns still have yet to draft a wide receiver.
