Mike Florio refuses to speculate in speculative post about Johnny Manziel

Mike Florio knows exactly what people in nightclubs do with rolled up dollar bills. But he's not going to speculate about it. Nope. Not at all.

Johnny Manziel went to Vegas over the holiday weekend. Someone took his picture with a Playboy model and another of the Browns rookie rolling up some paper money in a bathroom. As soon as the photos surfaced, furious keyboard pecking could be heard emanating from somewhere in West Virginia; Mike Florio refused to speculate while speculating about what was happening in the photo.

Follow me down the rabbit hole of rumination.

"Interesting photo" is a good way not to guess at what's happening here. But just in case you squares out there were wondering what in the world Mr. Money Phone was doing rolling up a dollar bill, the worldly Florio has you covered.

Oh, so that's what that's for, or could be for, I guess. Good work to provide some context for the photo without making any unsubstantiated claims about what Manziel's doing with the rolled up bill. That's why NBC brings in a pro like Florio to work next to Bob Costas and Peter King.

Aside: A Mike Florio anti-drug film would be a game-changer at the NFL's rookie symposium. But only if it has 80s Florio.

And it's a darn good thing Florio added ...

Whew. For a minute there, I was worried Florio was going to speculate.

Florio can't ignore a big story like this one. He's got to keep those page views up in case another mascot challenges him. Therefore, it's important to cover it, without making ANY assumptions about what's happening in the photo.

He added two more paragraphs of non-speculation to round out the story. Context is everything when you're not speculating about something that I'd speculate plenty of other people will speculate about.

If Florio hadn't already assured us that he wasn't speculating, I'd hypothesize that he's almost begging his heroes at The Shield to drug test Manziel ... based on a photo that's he rightly refuses to speculate about. It's also a good thing Florio said he's not speculating about what Manziel was doing, because it would sound like he's speculating about what Manziel was doing in that last paragraph if he hadn't said that.

If there's one lesson Manziel could learn from Mike Florio, besides how to use a rolled up dollar bill, it's integrity.
