After being involved in a motorcycle accident a couple of days ago in which he reportedly suffered a broken hand, defensive end Marcus Benard has now been placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list, which means he is done for the season.

40 Browns Waive Ben Jacobs, Auston English, and Derreck Robinson; Practice Squad Announced

The Cleveland Browns signed defensive end Emmanuel Stephens off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. Stephens, an undrafted free agent from the 2010 season, had seven tackles, one sack, one quarterback hit, and one tackle for a loss in the preseason. He was on Atlanta's practice squad all of last season.

Intense and persistent in trying to get to the QB and is quick enough to adjust and pick up ball-carriers. Possesses a very high motor and keeps his feet moving throughout the play. Very strong for his size and battles hard to get off blocks.

Flaws

Undersized for a classic defensive end and doesn't have the fluidity, speed, or explosiveness to excel as an outside linebacker. Has a history of durability issues.
