Who led the Browns in special teams tackles in 2011? That would be Joshua Cribbs, who finished the year with 10 special teams tackles. He last led the team in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 and 2010, he was more involved as a receiver and a returner. Despite being injured this year and not being on special teams coverage for every game, he still managed to lead the team.

The Browns placed linebacker Scott Fujita and defensive end Emmanuel Stephens on the injured reserve today. Fujita broke his hand against the Bengals and will have surgery on it. Stephens injured his pectoral against the Bengals.

Two weeks ago, backup defensive end Emmanuel Stephens somewhat surprisingly replaced starter Jayme Mitchell at defensive end. At the time, reports indicated that Mitchell was nursing an injury. Thwarted again, this time by several unfortunate self-induced mistakes by the Cleveland Browns. The St. Louis Rams were merely innocent bystanders who sat idly by as the Browns fell to 3-6 on the season. If we're playing the "what if" game in terms of self-induced errors, the Browns could very well be a 5-4 team right now.

Assets

Fairly explosive and athletic off the edge. Does a nice job chasing down ball-carriers. A hard worker on and off the field. Has enough size to play either end or outside linebacker.

Flaws

Needs to keep developing pass-rush moves. Would benefit by adding muscle to his frame to deal with the NFL's better blockers. A bit of a late bloomer and is still working on his overall game.

Career Potential

Very solid outside linebacker / DE with upside.
