D'Brickashaw Ferguson Predicts 'Greatness' For New York Jets

Just when it seems that maybe, just maybe, head coach Rex Ryan has learned his trash-talking lesson, it seems like New York Jets' Pro Bowl left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson has taken up where his coach is trying to leave off.

Ferguson predicted "greatness" for the Jets during a recent NFL.com pdocast.

"We’re gonna do some nice things this year," Ferguson said. "The focus should be on what’s gonna happen this year, and what’s in our power to do. We have greatness written all over us. It’s just a matter of time."

So, Ryan Kalil has predicted a Super Bowl title for the Carolina Panthers. Michael Vick has talked about the Philadelphia Eagles becoming a dynasty. Now, Ferguson predicts greatness for Gang Green.

Didn't anybody learn anything from the 2012 Super Bowl champion New York Giants and the way they go about their business? Talk is cheap, guys. Keep quiet and go prove it on the field.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson Dishes On Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez And More

New York Jets Pro Bowl left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson admitted he was "taken aback" when the team traded for Tim Tebow. Ferguson discussed Tebow, Mark Sanchez and other Jets issues during an appearance on WFAN with Joe and Evan earlier this week.

Here is a portion of the interview. Sports Radio Interviews has the transcript.

How surprised were you when you found out the Jets got Tim Tebow? How do you think this is going to work with Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez?

"I think everyone was taken aback at first. Like wow nobody knew what to expect, but I met with the man and he's got a good head on his shoulders and he's real passionate. I think we'll have to wait and see until the season because not only will it be exciting to see what does happen, but it's going to make a lot of other teams really have to second guess what we'll be doing because we have the advantage of having great quarterbacks and now we have the opportunity to do what we want with what we have."

What is the feeling like in camp with both Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez? Was it a normal starter and backup quarterback relationship?

"The feeling was very normal if you will. Mark was playing ball and Tebow had the opportunity to run with the No.2′s. I don't feel that feeling of conflict was there during that period of time. I think that feeling is more outside in than inside out. I think right now we are in a good place."

Mel Kiper Has Arizona Cardinals Selecting D'Brickashaw Ferguson In 2006 NFL Re-Draft

Everyone's been looking forward toward the 2012 NFL Draft. Mel Kiper has been moving back to look at the 2006 NFL Draft and seeing who each team should've drafted based on their level of performance since arriving in the league. Obviously there are a lot of under-the-radar guys that probably ended up being drafted a lot higher than their original picks, but there's also plenty of first round blue chip talent that panned out quite alright.

The Arizona Cardinals end up with a conventional pick as they take someone who had originally been taken much higher in their draft. D'Brickashaw Ferguson was an offensive tackle tackle that was drafted with the 4th pick, and there's no doubt he's done well with the New York Jets, but he apparently falls down to the 10th pick here as there were nine other players who've outperformed him in the pros. The Jets end up taking Tamba Hali instead as a game-changer on defense.

New York Jets offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson lost his shoe lost his shoe in the first half of today's game against the New England Patriots. And where exactly did Ferguson lose his shoe? In the facemask of one of New England's defensive players, of course.

Ferguson managed to take the player's helmet off with his shoe quite by accident of course. He needed a little help from the refs to pull it back out of the New England facemask.

2011 Pro Bowl Rosters: Four Giants, Three Jets Make Team

Four New York Giants and three New York Jets have been selected to represent their conferences in the 2011 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

For the Giants, right guard Chris Snee earned a starting spot in what will be his third straight Pro Bowl appearance. Center Shaun O'Hara, defensive end Justin Tuck and safety Antrel Rolle were selected as reserves. Rolle and O'Hara were helped by leading the fan balloting at their respective positions. O'Hara made the team despite playing just six games this season. This is three straight Pro Bowl appearances for O'Hara. Rolle and Tuck are on the team for the second time.

Six Giants and nine Jets were chosen as alternates.

For the Jets, cornerback Darrelle Revis and center Nick Mangold were named starters, and left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson was names as a reserve.For Revis this is his third Pro Bowl and will be his second start. It will be Mangold's third consecutive start. Ferguson is a two-time selection.

The Pro Bowl will be held Jan. 30 in Honolulu one week prior to Super Bowl XLV.
