Great 1st Career Catch For Rookie WR Michael Floyd And Failed Celebration

Through the first two weeks of the 2012 season, Arizona Cardinals fans have been waiting for rookie wide receiver Michael Floyd to make a play. He had seen the field very little and had yet to even make a catch.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles he not only picked up his first catch, it was for a touchdown.

At the eight-yard line, Kevin Kolb threw a ball into traffic that Trent Cole got his hand on. The ball was in the air for a split second, but Floyd stayed with it. He grabbed the ball and found no one behind him. Touchdown Cardinals!

What happened after that was a celebration with some embarrassment.

He went for the goalpost dunk and stuck it, but then ended up on his butt.

So...great concentration, great way to have your first catch, bad form on the landing.

Trent Cole Fined For Flip That Ended Russell Okung's Season

Trent Cole said today that he received a $7,500 fine, pretty light by NFL standards, for his flip of Seahawks OT Russell Okung, who tore his pectoral on the play and is now out for the season. Seahawks fans were understandably outraged by what they saw as a cheap shot, while Eagles fan not surprisingly didn't think it was an excessively violent play. We've got the video below and you can judge for yourself.

The guys were both engaged in a block, the whistle was blowing literally at the moment it happened and while it wasn't necessary to flip the guy, it was mostly just bad luck that Okung was injured on the play. If you look at it, it doesn't appear to the type of play that ends a guy's season. You see guys getting slammed to the ground every single down in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles Madden 12 Ratings

Madden 12 will be released tomorrow less than two weeks prior to the start of the real NFL season and in the same week that many Madden gamers will be heading back to school. No doubt many of you will be playing online and given how high so many of their ratings are, expect a lot of people online to be using the Eagles.

We'll start with the QBs and WRs where Michael Vick is one of the top rated QBs in the game at 93. DeSean Jackson is a 91 and recently won an online vote that made him the fastest player in the game with a 100 speed rating. Jeremy Maclin is an 86 and Steve Smith is an 84.

LeSean McCoy is an 88 while Ronnie Brown is an 84. The cornerbacks will be as good in Madden as they will likely be in real life. Nnamdi Asomugha is one of the highest rated players in the game at 98, Asante Samuel is a 94 and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is an 85.

As for other notable Eagles - Trent Cole - 93, Todd Herremans - 90, Jason Peters - 89, Brent Celek - 83, Jason Babin - 90, Cullen Jenkins - 89.

Eagles Tweet About East Coast Earthquake

As probably almost all of our Philly area/northeast based readers felt, an earthquake centered in Virginia could be felt in our area. It made for one of those interesting shared experiences on social media where everyone talked about where they were and what they felt. Among those sharing their experiences and thoughts were Eagles players and reporters down at the NovaCare complex.

2011 Pro Bowl: Michael Vick Named NFC Starter

The NFL announced the 2011 pro bowl rosters today and the Philadelphia Eagles will be sending five players to Honolulu. QB Michael Vick, LT Jason Peters and CB Asante Samuel were all voted in as starters. WR DeSean Jackson makes the team as the #3 WR and David Akers was voted in as the kicker.

Vick was the NFC's top vote getter and is a leading candidate for NFL MVP. This is his fourth pro bowl. Asante Samuel currently leads the NFL in interceptions, this is also his fourth pro bowl. Jason Peters has been fantastic since coming back from midseason knee surgery and will be heading to his fourth straight pro bowl. Peters is an interesting case because I think he made it last year on reputation, but has really earned the pro bowl bid this season.

David Akers is headed to his fifth pro bowl while DeSean Jackson makes his second straight trip.

Atlanta sent 7 players to the pro bowl, which is the most in the NFC. Here are the full rosters.

The most notable snubs for the Eagles are Trent Cole, LeSean McCoy (who leads the NFC in yards from scrimmage), and Quintin Mikell. Mikell has a had a solid year and by most measures has been clearly better than Antrel Rolle & Adrian Wilson who both made the team.

Trent Cole, Todd Herremans & LeSean McCoy have been named as first alternates. Quintin Mikell and Owen Schmitt are second alternates.

Considering half of the guys voted onto the team probably won't play in the game there's still plenty of time for the snubs to get to Honolulu.

Michael Vick Leads Tom Brady In Pro Bowl Balloting

With only five days remaining in the pro bowl voting, Eagles QB Michael Vick leads the entire NFL in pro bowl voting with 981,687 votes. Tom Brady is in second place about 34,000 votes behind Vick. Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson & Aaron Rodgers round out the rest of the top five.

The only other Eagle leading his position in the voting is kicker David Akers with 165,632. The biggest crime is that Trent Cole is not even in the top five among voting for NFC defensive ends.

The fans vote counts as one third with the players and coaches vote's determining the other two thirds. The team is picked from a consensus of those three votes. You can still vote on NFL.com/ProBowl or on facebook at facebook.com/NFL.

The teams will be announced at 7:00 pm (ET) Tuesday, December 28 on a special NFL Total Access 2011 Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network. The players and coaches send in their ballots about a week before.
