Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks: Four receptions, 83 yards, one long touchdown reception off a slant pattern from Tarvaris Jackson to help bring Seattle back into it with the San Francisco 49ers.
Randall Cobb, Green Bay Packers: Two receptions, 35 yards, one touchdown, and an amazing 108 yard kickoff return that saw him spin around 180 and still stay on his feet and get to the end zone.
Ryan Kerrigan, Washington Redskins: Five tackles, an interception off a deflected pass which he returned for his touchdown to help beat the New York Giants.
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers: 422 passing yards, three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) and an interception in his first career NFL start. He set lots of rookie passing yards records in what was a promising debut.
Patrick Peterson, Arizona Cardinals: Five tackles, punt return touchdown that ended up being the difference for the Cardinals in beating the Panthers.

Randall Cobb And The Silver Lining Of The NFL's New Kickoff Rule

NFL fans, players, and coaches have been complaining about the NFL's new kickoff rule since the day it was passed, and it'll probably continue all year long. But Thursday night Randall Cobb offered a compelling counterpoint. Not just because he returned a kick 109 yards for a touchdown, but because he became the first player to return a kick FOR GOD.

From Pro Football Talk:

"I was just trusting in God," Cobb said. "He told me to bring it out. I’m not supposed to bring that out. Some things are logical and some things are just the power of God."

This is just the beginning, people.

Of Cobb's return from the back of the endzone Mike McCarthy said, "I was not really happy with his decision, but it’s one of the best returns I’ve seen. You’ve got to be excited about Randall."

You've also got to be excited about the prospect of a year's worth of coaches freaking out at players foolishly bringing the ball out of the endzone. It's a win-win on these runbacks: Either a spectacular failure (and a meltdown from a pissed off coach), or a spectacular success, where someone like Randall Cobb has the chance to pay homage to divine inspiration, while his coach pretends not to be upset.

Either way, it adds a whole new layer of entertainment. And while we can't expect everyone to cite God in explaining their return strategy, they can nod to Cobb, instead. So maybe the inspiration was more real than you think, and Randall Cobb is just the messenger.

The message: Bring it out, y'all, because God loves kick returns, too.

Von Miller Officially Confirmed To Be On Stage On Draft Night

The NFL sent out a release earlier this morning confirming that a record 25 players would be attending this year's NFL Draft. Texas A&M's Von Miller, one of the first rumored invites, has accepted and will be on the stage along with the following other players:

Very interesting list here. The most surprising name is probably Randall Cobb, who I don't think I've ever seen mocked in the first round. With 25 picks, of course, it's not likely that everyone here will be drafted in the first round, but it's clear that most of these guys will go in the first 40 picks.

Miller is widely expected to be picked by the Buffalo Bills, who have the third overall pick. SB Nation's latest mock draft has that exact scenario playing out.

Randall Cobb Blasts Kentucky Fans In A Twitter Rant

Kentucky has never been considered a football power, but quarterback/wide receiver Randall Cobb is tired of his own fans booing and disrespecting the team. The first incident where Cobb experienced some unsatisfied fans was last month when he went to the Red Lobster dressed in Kentucky gear and the hostess gave some not-so kind words of encouragement.

She asked Cobb how many games Kentucky would win before the team was horrible again. Sure that is what Kentucky football player want to hear from their own fans.

Cobb was right to think that after they upset then No. 10 South Carolina at home that the fans would be more appreciative of the team. Well, he was mistaken because Cobb relayed his frustration in a twitter rant. The tweets from Cobb's account have since been deleted, but as everyone knows once something hits the Internet, it's around forever. So, here are the tweets in which Cobb ranted against his fans.

So, how soon will it be before coach Joker Phillips joins the ranks of other college football teams and bans the use of twitter by his players?
