Browns Release DE Jayme Mitchell, Formerly the Team's 'Best Pass Rusher'

The Cleveland Browns released defensive end Jayme Mitchell on Friday, according to reports. Mitchell was acquired by the Browns from the Minnesota Vikings in 2010 for a conditional draft pick.

Jayme Mitchell is No Longer a Starting Defensive End

Two weeks ago, backup defensive end Emmanuel Stephens somewhat surprisingly replaced starter Jayme Mitchell at defensive end. At the time, reports indicated that Mitchell was nursing an injury. Last week, Pat Shurmur indidcated that Mitchell's health was better and that he may be back in the lineup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
