Roddy White 9th Best Receiver In Madden NFL 13

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has been named as one of the top-10 overall receivers on Madden NFL 13. In this video by EA SPORTS, former NFL great Marshall Faulk ran down his list of best wide receivers and tight ends in the video game, and White checked in at number nine with an overall score of 94.

Marshall said of White, "Versus man coverage, this guy always gets open."

Calvin Johnson tops the list with a score of 99. The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket is the only receiver in this year's game to receive a perfect score by EA SPORTS. Rob Gronkowski is the top tight end in Madden NFL 13 with an overall score of 97.

Steelers OTAs: Injury To Mike Wallace During Workouts Might Have Been Devastating

Behind The Steel Curtain argues that Hakeem Nicks' recent injury demonstrates why Steelers receiver Mike Wallace is ditching his team's OTAs. An injury to Wallace during OTAs, while unlikely, would be potentially devastating for a player who's still looking for a lucrative long-term contract.

Injuries are often fluke things, occurring despite outstanding conditioning, proper technique and usual stress. While the odds of what happened to Nicks happening to any other receiver in the league are low, it's still a big risk to take for a player like Wallace, who's eyeing a long-term extension.

What if Nicks blew out his ACL? He's likely out for the entire season ...

The NFL is ultimately a business, and Nicks' injury only gives Wallace more reason (not defending or supporting his agenda) to avoid team-issued workouts.

Despite the fact that Wallace's status was probably the biggest story of the Steelers' offseason, there hasn't been much of an uproar, relatively speaking, about Wallace skipping OTAs -- it has been a story, certainly, but not a huge one. Of course, with a new offensive coordinator (Todd Haley) and a new playbook, it would be nice if he were there.

Hakeem Nicks Of New York Giants Takes Shot At New York Jets

The New York Jets have made plenty of headlines ever since Rex Ryan became the team's head coach, and made even more during the NFL offseason due to their locker room instability and their acquisition of Tim Tebow.

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks isn't too worried about headlines. After all, his team won the Super Bowl.

"Man it feels good," he told WFNZ in Charlotte about being the football kings of New York (via Sports Radio Interviews). "We look at it like the Jets...they can get the credit. They like being in the limelight. We feed off of our coach. Our coaches [say] don't talk and play the game. I think that is what we feed off of. We know what we are capable of doing. We don't gotta sit here and boost ourselves up. We'll go out there and prove out on the field. That's what we did."

VIDEO: Rob Gronkowski Dancing To LMFAO After The Super Bowl

If this were any other star player after a loss—say, if the Giants had lost and someone like Hakeem Nicks had gone out to club to party anyway—the outcry would be deafening. Except that this story is just so perfectly GRONK. You can't help but applaud his dedication to living out stereotypes. There he is on the left, dancing shirtless on stage with LMFAO, probably with a few his 16 identical brothers, and maybe a pornstar just because.

BRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSS.

Good news: There's also grainy video.

He dances like a robot on ecstasy, but of course he does.

Just a phenomenal moment all around. And hey, good to know that his ankle's not that bad. At least it's healthy enough to grind all up on some HOT CHICKS and get totally GRONK'D with LMFAO. Rob Gronkowski is such a perfect distillation of every person I've ever hated in the bars and clubs everywhere, that I can't help but love him forever. Here's another video, just because.

Ed Lee & New York's Mayor Bloomberg Place Bet On NFC Championship Game

When giant metropoli face either other in sporting events, a bet between each city's mayor often comes with the territory. Such is the case of this year's NFC Championship between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants.

Mayor Ed Lee and New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg agreed to the terms of a little 'friendly wager' on this weekends NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, including culinary wagers as well as physical ones.

If the 49ers win, Bloomberg has to rename 49th Street in Manhattan as "49ers Street," as well as send a dozen New York bagels from Bagel Oasis in Queens to the city by the Bay.

If the Giants win, Lee will have to dress a Cable Car in New York Giants flags for a day along on the Powell Street route, along with a batch of Boudin sourdough bread to New York City.

Mayor Lee was proud and confident of his Niners chances this weekend:

"49ers fever is sweeping our City and the entire Bay Area region, and we are so proud of our hometown team," said Mayor Lee. "So while I'm excited to make this bet with Mayor Bloomberg, we have no intention of losing. We're going all the way to the Super Bowl. The Giants will have to leave their hearts and their Super Bowl hopes in San Francisco. Go Niners!"

Mayor Bloomberg of course had to retort:

"Just like Hakeem Nicks ran right past the Packers' secondary, the Giants are going to breeze by the 49ers on their way to the Super Bowl," said Mayor Bloomberg. "After Sunday, Niners fans will be left with a taste as sour as their famous bread and the Giants will have their sights set on another trophy."

Seems like a fair bet either way, though I'd love to see 49ers street in the Big Apple.

NFL Playoff Scores: Ravens Beat Texans, Giants Upset Packers

Here are the results of Sunday's NFL playoff matchups.

First, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans by a score 20-13, as Kris Wilson and Anquan Boldin caught touchdown passes from Joe Flacco. Arian Foster had 132 yards rushing with a touchdown for the Texans, and Andre Johnson caught eight passes for 111 yards. The Ravens' victory sets up a Ravens vs. Patriots matchup in the AFC Championship Game (3:00 on Sunday on CBS), which is pretty annoying for Steelers fans, most of whom won't feel like they can root for either team. A Broncos vs. Ravens championship game would have been worse, however, so at least that was avoided.

In the NFC, the New York Giants pulled off a shocking upset of the Green Bay Packers, 37-20, as Eli Manning went 21-of-33 with 330 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Hakeem Nicks had 165 yards receiving and two touchdowns. The Packers lost three fumbles. That means the Giants will head to San Francisco to take on the Giants next Sunday in the NFC Championship Game (6:30 PM, FOX).

ANIMATED: Mike Wallace Celebrates With A Mile High Salute

It's apparently a day for mocking running backs of old. Earlier, Hakeem Nicks broke out the Dirty Bird, causing Jamal Anderson to drop an NO HE DIDN'T on Twitter. The Giants won that game, and Nicks' celebration came with the game basically in hand.

In the late game, Mike Wallace pulled a similar stunt in Denver, this time paying homage -- read: mocking -- Terrell Davis. Following a third quarter touchdown, Wallace broke out the Mile High Salute, a familiar sight in Denver.

Worth noting the Steelers are currently down by a touchdown, making for an easy "scoreboard" retort. But hey, it's the thought that counts. Good to see someone's still got TD on their mind.

Redskins Help Cowboys

With a one-sided 23-10 affair in the books, the Washington Redskins just downed the New York Giants, putting the Cowboys back in to sole possession of first place.

Really, that headline could also read "Giants help Cowboys," since it was more the Giants playing below expectations than the Redskins rising above them, with Eli Manning throwing three interceptions and repeated flubs by Hakeem Nicks. Credit should also go to the relentless pressure the Redskins managed, however.

The loss, coupled with the Cowboys win Saturday, guarantees Dallas will survive at least to Week 17 in playoff contention, and also guarantees the Cowboys have the intra-conference tie-breaker. Scenario run-down after the jump.

Cowboys def. Eagles, Giants def. Jets: Week 17 winner takes NFC East (Cowboys by record, Giants by head-to-head).

Cowboys def. Eagles, Jets def. Giants: Cowboys clinch division in Week 16, can rest in Week 17 (by record).

Eagles def. Cowboys, Jets def. Giants: Week 17 winner takes NFC East (Cowboys by record, Giants by head-to-head).

The Seahawks (shockingly .500) also managed to upset the Bears in Chicago, giving the Cowboys slightly better hopes at the wild card, but we are most likely looking at a repeat of 2008. Win, you're in. Lose, and have a bitter rivalry game to dwell on for the off-season.
