Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Carolina Panthers left tackle Jordan Gross suffered a broken right ankle during Sunday's 28-19 home win over Atlanta and will miss the remainder of the season.
Gross left the game at the half and did not return. Travelle Wharton, currently a guard but who spent the majority of his career at tackle, took Gross' place for the rest of the game and is expected to fill that role for the rest of the year.
The 29-year-old seventh-year pro underwent successful surgery on the ankle Monday morning, and will be placed on injured reserve this week.
