Lions' QB Stafford back to practice, WR Johnson sits out

Sports Network | October 28, 2009

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford took limited snaps in practice on Wednesday while wide receiver Calvin Johnson sat out practice.

Stafford sat out Weeks 5 and 6 with a right knee injury he sustained in a Week 4 loss to Chicago. Detroit had its bye week last week.

Daunte Culpepper started the previous two games before the bye week, but he went down with a right hamstring injury in the third quarter of the 26-0 loss to Green Bay. Drew Stanton finished the game under center for Detroit.

Culpepper was not listed on the injury report.

Johnson, meanwhile, sat out the game against Green Bay prior to the bye week with a thigh injury he suffered in the Week 5 loss to Pittsburgh. He is listed on the current injury report as having a knee injury.
