Packers add S Smith

Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers signed safety Anthony Smith, who had been with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced Monday.

Smith had spent his entire three-year NFL career in Pittsburgh after being a third-round selection by the club in 2006. In 46 career games, including 14 starts, he has 94 tackles, four interceptions and 10 passes defensed.

A three-year starter at free safety at Syracuse, the 25-year-old Smith posted 14 interceptions in college, ranking him third all-time for the Orange.
